Week 8 (July 27)

This week was AWESOME!!

Sorry I was super hyped last week and explained everything terribly. So the area I am in is called Angol. You can look it up it is about 4 hours away from Concepcion. We are in the sector called Alemania 3 and it is great. It is huge! It takes at least an hour to walk side to side. No bikes or anything. We walk walk and walk and sometimes take a collectivo. It does remind me a little of Mexico but not completely the same. The Chileans definitely have their own way of speaking and eating and living. We actually live outside of our sector with 4 other Hermana’s because it is a little dangerous inside of our sector. My companion is from Herriman Utah and her name is Hermana Rich...she doesn´t have a blog so you can´t stalk her parents...she apologizes because she tried but her mom just doesn’t know how and either does she. So there´s that. Good luck stalking. It is fun being with her! She is gluten intolerant and so with my lactose probs....it makes for some interesting lunches with the members hahaha. She has blonde hair as well so it is a curse and a blessing of being together in a country full of black and brown hair. Lots of people are curious to talk to us but some are just creepy! oh yeah and she has been here for almost 9 months! Almost her hump dayyyy!

Some super weird and random things happened this week! oh ya ps i forgot to tell you guys that my first day here I cracked my tooth in half....whoops. okay not my tooth just my cap (again) so its not too much of a worry I just have to wait to get my debt card until I get it fixed!

The people here are so nice and it seems like every time we enter into someone’s house, they give me something. For example, one lady gave us lunch, the fatty meat of a spine of some kind of animal and then I told her it was my first time to have sopapillas! (big mistake) she then went on and gave us a grand total of 7 each. My companion was stuffing them everywhere in her clothes hahaha because remember she can´t eat gluten. Then the lady piled more food on our plates and then gave us shoes!

This week we were as sick as dogs but still worked hard and found sooo many miracles. We had nicolas´s baptism!! It was amazing and the spirit was unreal. He is a rock solid kid. I will send some pics. We also are teaching this woman named Carmen who is so cute. She came to church even though she had been throwing up the night before. How cool? Literally everything we prayed for this week happened. We were able to work hard enough to get the week of excellence which is one baptism, 3 investigators to church and at least 140 contacts.

We had intercambios one day and I got to work with a hermana that we live with. We had a HUGE miracle. We met this guy named victor and he was crying when we taught him and we challenged him to baptism and he accepted. Huge testimony builder.

Mom and Dad for your questions, our ward is big for Chile, about 100 people in total.

We have a washing machine but someone in our ward is going to start washing our clothes.
We dont get ipads haha
My companion likes to work out yes! And no of course we don’t sleep in c´mon parents

Love you all so much! Read your scriptures and you will be happy :)
Love,
Hermana Kleinman

PS the pictures are of Nicolas´s baptism.

Week 7 (July 20, 2015)

So WOW!  So much has happened since I last got to email you guys. The last week in the CCM was awesome. We got to go out and contact people and then we got to go on splits with the sister missionaries in the Santiago East mission. They taught me lots and it was such a cool experience! It made me pumped for the real deal field. Well I am basically the luckiest person in the whole entire world because my trainer is AWESOME. Seriously she is so so so so out of this world cool. For example, I came home for the first time to our house and she decorated our room with balloons and gifts and our first morning together she made us banana pancakes! I love her so much! Also she is such an amazing missionary. She has been teaching me soooooo much. She is just an all-around good example to me and I feel so blessed to have her as my mom on the mish!

We live with 4 other hermanas in this house that is pretty big for Chile! They are all so nice. Two of them are the sister zone leaders and all of them are just so great. The weather here is super super cold and it does rain a lot but I love it! It is so weird because when it rains the earth just soaks up all of the water, kind of crazy. The members here feed us like Kings. Kings not Queens. The portions are gigantic but the food is so yummy!!

The people here are awesome. My trainer really is a good example to me of just talking to everyone. We have hit our contacting goal every single day which is cool and it is just fun to talk to people in the streets. Some guy ran up to us and was saying like its you! its you! and we were so confused but then we realized he wasn’t some golden contact but he just thought I was the girl from the little house on the prairie hahaha.

The dogs here are actually insane and there are probably 700 on every street.

Our ward is super cool there are about 70 members in it and I had to get up this Sunday and introduce myself. Scary but I did it! my Spanish is improving slowly but surely.

MIRACLE! There is this boy named Nicholas and he is getting baptized this Saturday! He is beyond prepared and is so so so awesome. He brings people to church and just loves everything about the gospel. We have seen so many small miracles this week it has been amazing. I love this work so much!!! I love being a missionary. I would encourage everyone in the whole world to go on a mission!

Week 5 - (July 7, 2015)

wowowow. another great week! and sorry for my bad spelling and punctuation. still getting the hang of these keyboards. so today is my last pday here!! less than a week left and i cannot believe it. time flies.
HAPPY FOURTH! i hope you guys celebrated big because america is the greatest. except mom and dad i do support you guys celebrating in the west indies. jealous!! and looks like so much fun! so for fourth of July everyone here from north america basically wore red white and blue it was awesome. Presidente Doll let us watch copa america because i guess he counted it as a cultural experience haha. it was awesome!! all the teachers were freaking out. it went into overtime and then Chile won with the pk kicks!!! first time ever in 100 years that Chile has won so the city was absolutely insane. honking till 2 am and everyone was so happy!! we are only about a ten minute walk from the stadium so i kinda feel like we were in the middle of it all. so awesome though!! go chile!
this Sunday was solo espaƱol. the whole day. usually we do some classes in English but week 5 and 6 are all Spanish so it was a little struggle but i better get used to it right? haha it just takes so much brain power to sit there and translate every word in my head but i love that i can actually understand and get things out of lessons just like i would in English. we packed one of our suitcases this week with all of the heavy items in it and it got shipped to our missions. so no backing out now right?¡ i even shipped my English scriptures away. i have been studying in my Spanish ones and it has helped a ton. but i know that all of your prayers are definitely helping me!!

So this week is a cool week. we get to go contacting in the Santiago East mission tomorrow! i cannot wait! it is so fun to talk to the people here. me and my companions have made some friends in the mornings that we see every so often so hey maybe we will see them while we are contacting and get their information! we also get to go on splits this week as well. i absolutely cannot wait!! ahh! as much as i love it here, i cant wait to get out of the ccm.
me and my companions have learned so much with teaching our investigators here already. it is so cool because every time we teach one of us will get the thought to ask a certain question or share a certain scripture ect. and someone else in the companionship says exactly what i was thinking or about to say!! it is amazing!

Thanks for your story mom! i loved that and i also love how you and dad are having fun in the west indies and you still share the gospel mom! every where you go, you always are talking to people and sharing the gospel and you have been the best example to me. this work is so important! i kind of want time to slow down a little because i only get 18 months out here! i love you all SO much and pray for you all every day.

i probably won´t email next week because i will be getting my trainer and i will be in conception!! wahooooooo! there is me and one other Hermana from Argentina here who are going to my mission and about 10 elders.

xoxo
